Day 3
- Sunday 12th August 2012
Cobar
to White Cliffs.
Distance traveled - 354kms
We
woke early and arrived at the Cobar sign to take photos and assemble before the
day took off. We pulled out of Cobar
right on 9am heading for White Cliffs. The roads again were very straight and
we climbed and fell altitude all day.
Our first stop was at a road side rest area for a coffee and wee
break. We then pushed on to White Cliffs for set up and
lunch. It was about 2pm and we went
exploring. First it was a lap of the
town and then to Jock's place for a tour of his underground house. He was a character and if you are ever in
Broken Hill make sure you visit him. We
then visited Jo's place and found the bottle with the engraving on it from when
the club visited in 1988. We spent the
next hours looking around the town the golf course had to be the highlight of
natural attractions. It was very cold so
after a yummy dinner I showered and headed to bed.
Looking up the Mine Shaft, 20mtrs below ground.
Hammo looking for Opals.
Jock at his place.
Found this at the Bottle house.
Time for a quick 9 holes.
Dawn over White Cliffs.
