Wild wild winds.

Monday we were up and packed early it was our last day to get things done before James has to work for the rest of the week. We pulled into Lakes Entrance and put up camp then set off to Bairnsdale.  Bairnsdale is much bigger and had a few shops we needed to pick things up.  First stop was to Jayco and WOW what a place.  We had to make a pact before going in that we wouldn't buy a new van only get a few spare parts we were in need of.  That shop has every little part that comes on our Penguin. We picked up the few things we needed very easily and then promptly left before we were tempted. We stopped in a few more shops picked up groceries then went back to camp. In the afternoon we fitted said spare parts and also fitted our Stone Stomper.  Again the weather was reporting gale force winds so we tied it down and hoped for the best.

Tuesday was a lovely day up until 10am then it turned.  FREEZING, I think it made it to 10 degrees. I sat on our bed covered with a sleeping bag while James worked at the table.  The gale force winds had arrived and the rain persisted on and off all day. I watched a movie and then worked on a short Go Pro movie and generally just tinkered inside the trailer. I do hope this weather clears cause if we have to spend the week in here I will go BATTY and maybe just maybe strangle something or someone...

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, the weather stayed cool and at times bloody cold. We didn't have rain the entire time and I managed to get 4 loads of washing done so we should be right for a few weeks now. While James worked I pottered around getting necessary things and running errands. We went walking along the promenade in the evening and enjoyed our time in Lakes Entrance.

Saturday woo hoo time to leave and keep exploring. We had decided to head slightly west into Mitchell River National Park. It's along the Bairnsdale - Dargo road. We had heard it was nice so we decided to have a look. First stop was to Jayco they were doing a complimentary evaluation on the trailer we were very happy with their appraisal. From here we made our way out to camp.  For those who know it this area was like a mini Bendethera. It reminded us of the horse yards area, lots of lush green grass and the river winds it way around the camping area. After picking our spot, collecting some of the supplied fire wood, off we went exploring. We found a group of people about to set off white water rafting so we walked back to camp to watch them tackle the rapids. We both got something to read and the picnic blanket then found a nice spot up high in the shade of the trees to lay and watch. We spent about 2 hours there reading and then watching the group pass. They didn't fall in to our displeasure but they sure looked happy about it. We enjoyed a fire in the evening and just being outside.
