Cameron Corner Day 13

Day 13 - Wednesday 22nd August 2012
Bourke to Lightning Ridge
Distance traveled 360kms all bitumen.
We only had a short distance but once in Lightning Ridge we only had the afternoon to see the town and rest.  We pushed out of camp at 8.45am and made our way to Walgett for a quick rest stop.  We then pushed on into Lightning Ridge and made it in by 12.30pm.  We found the Lightning ridge outback resort and set camp.  We had lunch then set off to look around.  We first stopped at the John Murray Gallery and picked up some goodies then we went to find the Artesian bathes.  The bathes were much nicer and warmer then Pilligar.   We spent time soaking out all the dust and hopping in and out of the water.  We then did a red door tour which is self drive following red doors to see local attractions.  We saw some opal mines and 2 great looking castles one built of rocks and the other of concrete.  We then went back to camp to find happy hour at the beer garden that is in the park.
