Dubbo
to Cobar
Distance traveled -398kms
We had
ordered breakfast in the room and wanted to be on the road early so after
fueling the bodies and cars we hit the road right on 8.30am. We drove some very
very straight roads which were very bumpy and with the trailer behind it made
the rocking motion even more prominent. We decided to make a quick coffee break
in Nyngan beside a great river. From
here we pushed on into Cobar. In Cobar
we found our Motel then unhooked the trailers and went exploring. We found a great park for lunch then headed
out to see the lookout and open cut mine.
After a little more exploring we came across a mine which had a self
tour of the old equipment and lots of information. We then explored the information center, the
outside statutes. We couldn't check in
and the Shapcotts just arrived so we dumped the cars and walked into town to
find a drink. Just as we could get a room Rhys and Effie arrived. We then had happy hour at the motel followed
by pizza and an early night :-)
